I am writing this blog to have a place to express things which seem worth expressing with the intention to be constructive, and invite people to join me in doing so. Hopefully this can become a written community where we support one another in being honest, compassionate and lively. That is why my web site has the address http://truthandcompssion.com.
My name is Dave Cooperberg. I have been practicing Buddhist meditation and psychotherapy for over 30 years. Both practices are more about being and doing in life than achieving. When effective, these help us create a more honest, informed and compassionate way of living life than reaching some magical ‘and they lived happily ever after’ place. Of course I believe living this way makes me happier and more accepting of whatever life brings me.
I live in San Francisco, California, sharing my life with my spouse, Allen Klein for over 30 years, and our puppy Cheerios for over 11 months now. We have family and friends here and elsewhere in this country and Israel. We like good food, laughing, working the earth, musical theater, watching movies, some travel, and sharing time with people we enjoy.
I spend too much time on the computer, and not enough time sharing with others face to face. While I am in good health, I am of an age that things do go wrong, and physical pains and discomforts are often a part of my life. Of course that has been true even before I reached my 60’s. I do some writing, little published, and photography, none published. And I like sharing humorous stories even if they don’t have a more meaningful punch to them.
Some travel???????
Some. The term is vague and relative. You also do some travel 😉
